Hey all, i thought i would share with you some of my most played and favourite songs of 2009. As most of you know, i listen to internet radio pretty much all the time now, my iPhone gives me the SHOUTcast app, my computer and my wi-fi radio give me total coverage at home. I am mostly tuned into stations i find at BW, we have some fantastic members here and i think that if the member is great in contributing and that they get along well, that their station would be just as good! Keep in mind that i live in Australia and some of these tracks might be unknown to many but i really do suggest you google them and buy some of their tracks. These just completely send a shiver down my spine every time i hear them played! 1. Passion Pit - Sleepyhead I'm pretty sure these guys are from the USA, i have featured most of their tracks in my music blog and their album has to be one of the best of all time in my opinion. Highly recommended if you are into indie electro, this song is quite weird and the timing is out in the song but it sounds just so so so good! 2. Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man Why do i like the banjo? I dislike country music but i just love the banjo when good lyrics are attached to the song. These guys are from England and are quickly getting onto the pop charts here in Oz. Check their upcoming album out, it has some great tracks on there including this one! 3. The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition These guys are from Melbourne, Australia. This song is just so fantastic, the lead singers voice is so calming and I'm sure he will explode with the amount of air he holds just before the chorus. I recommend checking them out live too, the lane way festival was a great show. 4. Birds Of Tokyo - Broken Bones & Armour For Liars These two songs have to share the number four position. I saw these guys live last month and it was money well spent, a fantastic setting and an acoustic set. I luckily had the chance to shake the lead singers hand too! Oh, they are Australian too.. 5. OK GO - WTF? Yes, for the last time its an actual song. No, its not Flight Of The Conchords. Check out the trippy video too! 6. The Big Pink - Velvet I heard this song while i was at Edge Radio. I am a bit disappointed in their album because none of their other songs sound as good as this one. Recommended download though! "These arms are mine, don't mind who they hold, your maaaaaadddeee for me, and I'll leave love alone" 7. The Mars Volta - Since We've Been Wrong I am not a big fan of The Mars Volta, a bit of bad stuff floating around but as soon as i heard this. It was just amazing. Here's a tip though, skip to 1:30 in the song. Unless you like synth. 8. Boys Noize - & Down Ahaha, electro, dance. Here we are, this i hear ALL the time on SHOUTcast stations, its just a fantastic song to bump along with! If you don't like electro, don't bother with this song though ;) 9. Arctic Monkeys - Crying Lightning Aggravating the icecream man on a rainy afternoon. Lovely lyrics? 10. Basement Jaxx - Raindrops This is a weird song to bop to but it has a good rythem to it. Please make more like this Mr Jaxx! Merry Christmas All, James
